Great entry level OLED…

The LG A2 OLED TV arrived in a fairly long and large box for the 65 inch model. It is definitely a two-person job when unpacking and setting up. Unlike traditional LCD TV the OLED screen on this TV is unbelievably thin! It measures a mere 5mm, making unpacking an extremely delicate operation. The TV is also light for its size, it weighs around 25kgs which won't require a super heavy entertainment unit to sit on.
Once turned on the set-up process is very straight forward, just following the on screen instruction and the TV is up and running in about 5 mins. Picture quality on this TV is as you'd expect for an OLED screen, the colour is vivid and black is truly black. By default the TV had its screen power saving featured turned on, resulting in a lowered brightness. However once the power saving feature is turned off the screen really comes to life. LG should default this setting to OFF and let user choose whether they want it turned on.
There are several Picture & Sound modes that the user can choose from to suit individual taste. The Virtual Atmos sound really compliment the picture quality to provide a very immersive experience. The TV comes with one E-ARC HDMI port for connection to soundbar etc. It'd be great if it had more than one E-ARC port though.
The A2 series OLED is a "budget" model compared to the C2 series model. However personally I much prefer the design of the A2 series with the stand on the side rather than in the middle like the C2 series model. The screen also sits higher than C2 series model so when paired with a soundbar in front it will not block bottom of the screen.
This TV is a great entry model into the OLED world. It does lack more ports and the latest HDMI standard compares to the C2 model, however unless you are a power user the A2 model will meet most people's needs. Overall I’d recommend this TV to most people.
