We upgraded from a 12 year old 1080P Plasma TV which had a reputation for the deepest blacks (remember KURO anyone?) . The LG OLED65G4 surpassed our old Plasma TV in Black Levels and Colour reproduction.
4K resolution, HDR and Dolby Vision are a huge step up for anyone getting their first OLED TV; and the brighness boost from the MLA Panel on the G4 series is a game changer compared to other brands. The movie maker mode calibrates the screen to match the source content for a visual experience as intended by the Director.
The TV speakers were pretty good when we tested them, but we dont use them since we have a AV receiver hooked up to a 5.1.2 speaker setup. With Dolby Atmos support for streaming apps, we are able to get Dolby Atmos Audio from streaming services. Great audio to match a great visual experience.
Still learning how to use the WebOS interface, but its pretty intituitive and simple to use.
If I had to complain about something, it would be the remote. A remote without backlit buttons in this day and age is a misstep, especially at this price point.
