Managed to get a sparky in today to fit the new cooker.
It looks really solid. Brilliant contrasting stainless and black gloss.
Wifey couldn't wait to try out the induction hob.
She decided to make up some mash potato for dinner.
The water took a while to boil, until we realised it was on too low a setting. Cranked it upto 9, it was boiling quicker than the kettle. I can't believe how quick it was, this was without the pre heat or power function.
The hob timer is a great idea. It actually switches down the hobs when the timer is finished. It uses the residual heat to finish off the cooking, whilst saving energy.
The top oven is bigger than the old cooker's top oven, so that means we can get the smaller oven in use for the pizzas, although I think we will be using the steam bake feature for them.
One month on, the coker has taken a lot of hammer. We cook every day on it.
Now ive had time to use the cooker and its features i can update you guys.
The hobs heat up really quick. i mean quick. faster than gas. because of the induction, it heats the whole of the bottom of the pan, even if its not in the middle of the "burner".
The controls give a confirmation "Beep" when they are adjusted, handy because they are easy to adjust, not stiff like the old one.
Im a fan of the preheat function, turn the dial all the way to 10 then set it back to the required setting, the pan will get hot, then set back to the set point, great for warming up the big pan.
Wifey prefers the "POWER" button. it gets the pan hot. fast. like faster than normal fast.
The old one they used to click in and out, if you took your eye off, things could boil over. This stays constant,
The top oven had a quick blast for a pizza, but has been unused since. We only use the big fan/steam oven.
Even though the cavity is so big, it warms quickly, all the way to 250c. This makes for great yorkshire puddings!
Wifey has been busy making a variety of meals from roasts to french bread pizzas, lemon drizzle cakes through to croissants. The steam bake took a little to fathom, it just doesn't sound right putting water in the oven base, but there's a big recess for it to sit in. It definitely makes a noticeable difference to the sponge cakes, the edges were not as dense as usual.
The top is a doddle to clean, just wipe. the oven, crank it up and it cleans it self nearly, then give it a wipe over.
I defo recommend this oven.
