Samsung The Freestyle
The most interesting bit…

Like most folk, having a bedroom TV is a bit of an annoyance! Oh it’s up too far on the chest of drawers, oh I need to connect it to something so I better add a smart stick, oh it’s a cheap one so it doesn’t sound great... Well the Freestyle was the solution to these problems for me! I thought I can replace the bedroom TV with this absolutely tiny projector and fix all of these issues!
I was right! The Freestyle is a tiny bit of kit, but it packs a real punch! It connects to your home Wi-Fi, and gives you a full Samsung Smart TV experience (but sometimes you'll encounter a bit of lag!). You can project anywhere (my favourite is onto the ceiling! White walls, ceiling or projector screen are definitely best) and get to watching from a number of different sources, including mirroring from your mobile device! The set-up was really easy, and it’s now a mainstay in my bedroom! The image quality is very good, the Samsung TV features for watching live TV are handy, and the sound is fantastic for something so small!
Some things to note, it needs a fairly hefty power supply (supplied) so you might want to consider the battery base if you want to use on the go as my large (older) external battery wasn’t up to the task! It’s not the brightest so it doesn’t perform great during the day but it is perfect at night! The auto-focus and auto-keystone are useful and very important but it’s a bit noisy when doing so, and not always perfect. I’ve also had it decide to get stuck in an auto-focus loop where it keeps trying. The carry case is also fantastic, but I just wish it had space for the power supply and cable! However, these things are super minor and don’t really let it down - this is nothing like the projector I remember from school! Really, it's just got me more excited for V2 of the Freestyle where these minor foibles are resolved and it's even better.
