Samsung The Freestyle
The easiest projector to…

I've been looking for the right projector forever, but they were too expensive and required too much faff to make them convenient. The Freestyle is the best combination of everything I've been waiting for. It's small enough to fit anywhere and easy enough that I can take it around with me to a friend's without much hassle and have as simple an experience.
I really enjoy the ability to tilt the projector up or down. I've used it for movie night pointed at a wall and watching shows while lying in bed. The only downside is that the projector can slowly start to tilt down meaning you'll sometimes find yourself adjusting it, but it's a minor trade-off for great versatility.
The picture is great when blown up but will require a dark room to get the brightness at a decent viewing level. I sometimes have the Freestyle off to the side tilting towards the wall at an angle and the projector is great with readjusting automatically but the angle means the edges get blurred (that one is more user error) but it does a great job of still being watched and not noticeable to others.
I found the speaker to not work great with some of my own media that was trying to play in 5.1 surround sound and became really quiet. The projector speaker setting "amplify" sorted it out pretty nicely and now I mostly have the volume at about 50% (rather than the 100% it was at before) even with the projector fan going.
The built-in smart TV features make it great for being a portable little stand-alone device that I can take anywhere on its own and still have a really great experience. There is a bunch of other little features like the ability to use it as ambient lighting, have happy birthday messages on the wall or create a scenic window that is cool but felt a little gimmicky. I don't think they're features I'll ever use again.
The Freestyle nailed everything that I was looking for in a really great, simple projector.
