Samsung The Freestyle
Unique, adaptable, exciting;…

The Samsung Freestyle had excellent potential. It’s very lightweight, easy to transport and it has lots of exciting functions.
It’s stylish to look at and the case is solid and well built. However, the case doesn’t fit the charger - which is a little frustrating.
The picture on the Freestyle is great, though unless you are watching in almost darkness, the lighting and backlight is quite poor and the colour is not great. This is even after manually increasing the colour saturation and contrast.
The sound is excellent and it’s great as a speaker - especially that you can use the mood light settings and screensavers.
The aspect and ratio however is very underwhelming. Unless you are using the Freestyle on a perfectly flat surface and you are placing the Freestyle directly toward it, the automatic readjustments do not work well. The Freestyle image ends up slanted and not straight. Considering the advertisements of this excellent functionality, it is disappointing that this function is so poor.
The Samsung store and software is very intuitive and easy to use. There are lots of different apps and there’s something for everyone to watch. However it’s disappointing that the screensavers such as ‘Happy Birthday’ etc cannot be customised. Upon purchasing I took it for granted that such an easy functionality would’ve been available. It’s a shame that it is not.
Overall, the product is great and has a lot of potential. Though there are also various shortcomings. The cost is also very expensive for what you get.
