Samsung The Freestyle
Must try Harder

The setup for this unit was effortless and the on screen instructions were clear. The navigation from the remote is a bit clunky and quite frustrating, though I got there in the end.
The packaging is pretty but quite impractical as the removal of the unit is a bit like opening a cryptic box.
The carry case is impractical as though the projector can sit in it there is no provision for the cable clip (which will in due course get lost) to remain on as the carrier is badly designed so it needs taking off when storing and there is no room for the remote or cables +plug to be contained in the carrier so requiring additional baggage if using it in different locations on a regular basis.
The auto correct screen is good one way around and not so good the other it is not clear to me which way around the unit should sit other than being dictated from the screen image.
The clarity of the picture is excellent on a white background but not so good on a darker one...
Though it is preloaded with various built in apps which can be configured. It appears to me that 3rd party apps can't be added unless I have missed something.
It is also very frustrating that there is no port to put my SKY box into or indeed terrestrial Digital TV input
Overall I liked the unit but think it a bit pricey considering the things it doesn't have
If likely to remain in the same location it is a very good product but if needing to be moved around not so.
Though the unit did update a number of times I have also been frustrated by the unit randomly shutting down and rebooting. This has happened a number of times and was replaced for me. I have not had the same issue with the replacement .....yet
The cable for the unit is too short in my view 1.5m approx which necessitated me needing an extension lead to set up in some locations.
The sound seemed out of sync with some of the programmes I was watching too which took some getting used to.
The Samsung app was easy to set up on the mobile and worked effortlessly in fact easier to use than the remote in my opinion.
Can't get my head around why there is a need for such an ugly lens cover seems to be too big and rather pointless.
The screen definition is excellent though regardless of how big the screen size is made and the ability to project it almost anywhere is quite appealing.
