It's ok if you use it properly…

So I personally don't think I will continue with this, just because you really need to know how much you print and our printing is ad hoc and if you go over your monthly printing allowance the costs are quite high. Previous to this trial as well, we were not buying cartridges often as we don't print a great deal so weren't spending a lot. What I do like however is that you're charged by the page rather than by the ink so regardless of whether you're printing a glossy photo or half a page of black and white, the cost is the same. The potential downside of that however is that printing something in error or a one line of text is going to cost you the same as that glossy colour photo paper.
On the plus side, they send you packages so you can ensure you're recycling your spent cartridges by sending them back, and unused monthly printing allowances can be rolled over to the next month (up to a maximum of 3 months I believe).
I would say that if you print colour pages frequently and are confident that you know how much you print each month so are unlikely to go over the allowance you choose then this is for you, but we spend little on cartridges anyway and I am unsure of what we use per month so it could be a slightly expensive trial and error at the start e.g. if you think you use <10/month but then it turns out you're using more and you have to pay for those extra pages. I would recommend for others but not for us.
