Great time saving little…

Having already purchased a great cordless handheld vacuum this year, a Roomba was a bit of an extravagance, but I've always thought how handy one would be. And it had to be a Roomba as they're the original robot vacuum.
It's quite incredible how much stuff it picks up. Vacuuming regularly (due to living with a fluffy house rabbit), I thought the place was pretty spotless, yet on Alfred’s first outing he picked up so much dust and fluff it was quite shocking. And it's remained that way, every time he goes on a clean, the dust bin comes back near to full. The little sweeping brush seems to get into the corners and along skirtings without a problem.
The app is incredibly easy to use; the Roomba i5 maps the area to clean, but can also be set off without knowing or mapping the floor space beforehand. The only annoyance is that you can't seem to add more than one floor in the iRobot app, so if you have two stories, you just have to set it off manually when taking it upstairs. Oh, and the notifications don't seem to work at all on Android. I’ve tried the app on four different devices and never receive notifications when a job starts or ends.
Scheduling is easy to set up. We’ve got it set to Daily at 10 PM when we're normally upstairs in the bath or getting ready for bed. It's cut down the amount we use the handheld vacuum and thus the time we spend vacuuming which would probably be every other day without Alfred.
The few niggles in the app aren't worth worrying about, and hopefully notifications will be fixed and multiple floors will be added in due time.
All in all, it's a great addition if you have pets and want to keep on top of fur, fluff, litter and dust.
