Evoke Spot – Cotton White
Room filling sound

I normally use a standard portable Bluetooth speaker when in the kitchen cooking up a storm. It's what I’m used to. Comparing it to the Pure Evoke Spot, the difference is night and day. Not only do you get the benefit of DAB+ instead of having to stream stations, but the sound quality is incredibly clear and surprisingly bassy. Maybe a little too bassy from the factory, in fact. I had to nudge it down a few notches as it felt a little too overdone, but with that changed it's SPOT on.
You can obviously link your phone via Bluetooth, which is simple and easy to do thanks to the dinky LCD screen on the Evoke. Setting up out of the box was also a doddle, pairing to the WiFi with WPS, so you don't have to faff with entering a passcode.
The only thing Pure don't show is the aerial on the back in their shots. I don't need it extended. The DAB signal is great with it tucked away, but if you're in a poor reception area, just beware that you might need to have it poking up, which does make it a little old-fashioned looking, if I'm honest.
You can also link Spotify through your phone, but it's probably just as easy to connect Bluetooth, but doing that means you'll miss out on the track info showing on the Evoke's display.
The sounds is clear and easily fills a medium sized kitchen, it also looks smart and modern. If you're after a decent DAB Radio and Bluetooth speaker for your house I'd recommend it.
