Samsung, Neo QLED 4K QN90C
Move over OLED!

I have replaced my previous OLED TV with this 55” QN90C Neo QLED from Samsung for a number of reasons. Yes, the contrast isn’t quite as good as the jet black OLED, but the massive improvement in dimming zones on this model compared to previous generations of QLED TVs - now using Mini LEDs - means this gap is closing every year.
My TV is placed in a well lit living room, under a skylight with two walls entirely made of floor to ceiling windows, and the OLED was not bright enough to do a good job in counteracting all the natural light. The QN90C is crazy bright in comparison (sometimes too bright and I need to turn it down!), and thus darker scenes are much more viewable than on the OLED. The screen also has an anti-glare coating which helps with all the natural light in my living room as well.
Picture quality is stunning, with all detail of 4K content really popping off the panel, especially HDR content. Sound is what I’d expect from a TV of this thickness, won’t blow you away but is perfectly adequate. The TV is compatible with Dolby Atmos content and creates a fairly good effect with its 8 built in speakers.
The Tizen software for the smart TV features is excellent, very responsive and also has Xbox Cloud Gaming built in so I don’t need to move to my other room where my Xbox is if I’m already comfy on the couch, massive plus point! All the streaming apps I could need is available on the app store on the TV, not come across anything it’s missing!
All in all, a great upgrade for myself!
