No instructions but the…

Bizarrely I couldn't find any instructions in English in my box, but looking at the install manual, which was in every other language, I could tell it could be done via an App which I reached via a QR code.
The install, which was mostly straight forward, was not without it's quirks as the app bombed a couple of times during the process (Android for reference).
One strange quirk I got after the set up I got a high pitch beeping noise, it was faint but annoying as the printer sits on my desk. A quick google revealed this is a common problem for this model and could be fixed by a firmware upgrade. Via the App, I found the procedure to follow (it's not that easy and together with a few other quirks in the install process left me thinking how people who are not so IT savvy would get on).
Having upgraded from a traditional cartridge printer with subscription service, I'm interested to see if the suggested life time of the refillable tanks is reached, as I believe it could become much more cost effective.
I've been happy with the print quality and the speed of print is not that important to me.
One thing that worked well was my wife's iPhone could immediately select the new printer when it was on the WiFi without the need of installing an app. She was able to print straight from her phone.
I'm unsure if it was in the missing instructions but I did wonder if there was a recycling procedure for the now empty ink bottles, similar to with the old cartridges which you could post off.
