HP Smart Tank Plus 5106
A good all-rounder

I confess I found setting up this printer quite tedious, but that may likely be down to my poor understanding of networks.
It turns out you must set it up via a fully wifi enable device. Ethernet to modem just doesn't cut it! In the end I used my phone to link the printer to the network, but then the software went round in circles. First it could detect the printer an then it couldn't. It was very frustrating.
The ink system is one of the best I've experienced. Refill bottles are decanted into their appropriate fully visible tanks rather than having to change cartridges, which may or may not be empty.
Each colour bottle has the same capacity as the printer, while the black holds the equivalent of two tanks.
Happily, the design of bottle means there is no ink escaping or dripping anywhere it shouldn't. Also, this particular type of printer requires you to install 2 primer cartridges a well as the ink. Another first for me.
The printer chimed a very annoying 'ping' every 15 or so second, which I did eventually get rid of, but I have no idea what it was for.
I'm still testing its print speeds, but so far they are all over the place. When I printed my sons homework last week it took nearly 20 second to print even in b&w draft. Today it took only 8 seconds in colour in default. However, the quality was very good and coverage was consistent.
The scanner is very good. decent speed and high quality image at the end. You can save as either a PDF or jpg and unlike my last one you can choose where you'd like to save it!
Overall a decent printer for the price.
