Fantastic TV

This TV impresses from the superb build quality and way it is packaged through to the ease of setup and incredible picture quality!
The 65G3 is well packaged and straight forward to remove although it is wise to have two people due to the size of the TV. I am using mine on a cabinet rather than wall mounting so I attached the TV to my tabletop stand using the VESA mounts which is very easy to do.
Connecting the ethernet and HDMI cables is easy, and the inbuilt cable storage allows for them to be kept nice and neat. There are two HDMI ports accessible from the side including the eARC one and a further two accessed from underneath.
Once powered up there is a step by step set up process which is very easy to follow which gets the TV up and running very quickly. It is best to go to settings/general/ energy saving and turning energy saving step to off.
The Filmmaker mode is the most accurate out of the box and requires the minimum of adjustments to noise reduction etc. I used the same picture settings as I did on my G2 which is filmmaker with all processing turned off.
The picture quality is truly great. The brightness is extremely good which gives fantastic contrast with perfect blacks. With HDR content (Dolby vision, HDR 10 or HLG) the picture looks fantastic and really impresses.
The sound from the internal speakers is OK but like me, many users will either use a soundbar or separate AV system. Whether using a set top box, 4k Blu ray player or internal apps there are no lip sync issues. It is great to note that LG have now included support for DTS soundtracks as well as Dolby. Many DVDs and Blu rays have DTS as the top-quality sound option so now the best quality sound is available regardless of source.
The remote works well and is of good quality but is not premium.
TIP: To set the screen saver to show a clock face and weather rather than the coloured dots - go to Settings/General/System/Location/Weather location and enter the area that you wish to see weather for.
TIP; To get rid of the LG logo when turning off the TV, press the mute button 3 times to bring up a ‘hidden’ menu. Turn off the logo setting.
I am really enjoying this TV and know that it will get even better once it has been used for a few hundred hours! It is certainly the best TV picture quality that I have ever seen.
