WOW!!
Was my first thoughts when the delivery people brought this TV into my living room. I am coming from a LGOLED55C9, so it really needed to impress from the start, and it did not fail.
Unpacking the LGOLED65G3 was easy enough, as I had no time for wall mounting so a generic table stand was required. This TV has the standard VESA slots to accommodate that so you can be at ease with that.
Connecting all my HDMI sources to the TV was easy, as it has 4X HDMI sockets, with the 2.1 standards so what could go wrong. I should mention the network standards as this TV now supports Wi-Fi 6, but again this year the ethernet socket is still 10/100. But there are ways to circumvent this issue if you love that ethernet cable.
Turning on the TV you will be presented with the usual follow the steps process, at some point you will be reminded about just how many subscriptions or apps you belong to so be warned that will take some time to configure by logging into each.
Out of the box I was very impressed, even without seeing a program on it. Once I got some apps logged in and a few programs started for the examination process, I instantly noticed that the brightness had improved over my C9, and showed off some beautiful deep blacks and bright colours. With HDR content (Dolby vision, HDR 10 or HLG) I am very happy.
The sound!! I will not blow smoke out of this TV speakers, as they are like most TV speakers - an afterthought at best. If you are really wanting premium quality then you are going to need a sound bar of some sort if great sound is a must thing for you.
The remote? Well, this is a Flagship TV so LG you need to have a rethink about that. No more words needed.
In summary, as I mentioned before I am coming from the LGOLED55C9, but this model has seriously impressed me. More notably the now inclusion of DTS sound passthrough and the new MLA screen technology.
