Fantastic TV

Simply put, the LG 65G3 OLED TV is fantastic in every possible way.
I have been wanting an OLED TV for some years now, but never been able to justify the change from what was an essentially a good TV I already owned.
Once I saw the details of the new G3 OLED, and the introduction of the new MLA technology with the ability to increase brightness considerably over previous models, I new I had to see it. Once I had checked It out in a store I knew I wanted this TV.
I’ve had the TV for a couple of weeks now and its appearance is extremely pleasing on the eye, with an almost frameless screen. It is situated in a relatively bright part of the room, but the anti reflective coating seems to handle glare fantastically.
Set up of the TV was extremely simple, and basically involved plugging it in, connecting it to WiFi and allowing it to update it self. The use of the magic remote makes interaction with the TV nice and simple, especially when having to input any text.
I haven’t felt the need to really alter the settings in any of the picture modes, but I do change between the modes depending on what I’m watching - HDR will automatically switch to the correct setting.
These are my views on the material I have managed to watch:
Normal TV - I only have Sky Q set up on the TV, and the picture for the HD and UHD channels is exceptional. Standard definition is also handled very well - much of an improvement over my previous LED TV.
Apps - Disney Plus, Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. Shows and movies look fantastic when using any of the apps. Colours are vivd, brightness is simply superb and motion handling is possibly the best I have seen.
Gaming - Xbox Series X. The TV instantly changes to gaming mode and changes the way it displays the menu. I can honestly say that playing games is an absolute pleasure, and they look fantastic. This was one area I didn’t think would be a massive improvement from my old TV, but it’s probably the biggest. It definitely helps to immerse you in the game with my partner even commenting that it looks as though you could walk in to the screen.
I will just make one final mention for the sound of the TV. This was an area that I thought probably wouldn’t be particularly great however I have been massively impressed. It can be slightly inconsistent in the level it plays at, but its ability to provide an above average soundstage, including a good attempt at spacial audio is very good.
All in all, I cant recommend the TV enough.
