Great viewing experience…

We have upgraded from an LG LED TV to this LG OLED TV and gone from a 48" to a 55" and we are really impressed with the difference in picture quality and overall usability of this TV.
Firstly, straight out of the box, the TV shows its quality. The finish of the slim, barely there bezel around the screen means that every inch of the screen is visible when watching. All of the connectivity is located on one side, meaning that all the cables are easy to plug in/out with ease, even when the TV is on the wall. The TV also has a nice feature at the back where all the cables can be routed through the middle and out at the bottom which helps with cable management.
From initial start up, the TV is really user friendly. It's very simple to set up with all of your set top boxes, soundbars etc. The OS is great. It's better than our previous LG TV in that it seems simple and well organised. Setting up external streaming from mobiles phones etc are completed with ease.
The picture on this OLED TV is such a step up from our old LED TV. Straight from the box, there are different preset picture modes that work well, however there is also a wizard you can use to set up your own personalised picture mode, which we prefer to use when watching normal TV programmes. Again, this process is so simple to do. We have watched sport in UHD and the picture really is stunning. So sharp, bright and smooth. My husband is a gamer and he's very impressed with the gaming functionality of the TV. There are lots of functions to select within the Game Optimiser menu to make the most of your gaming experience. When watching films we have enjoyed using the Filmmaker mode, which changes the picture settings to view the film as the filmmaker intended.
The sound of the TV is good as far as TV sound goes, but we do have ours set up with a soundbar and woofer, so we haven't had vast experience of the sound to give more of a comment.
The remote is an upgraded version of our old remote, which means that we are able to use it with confidence. The only thing that I'm not a fan of on this remote is the scrolling wheel in the middle. If you have longer nails it's quite difficult to press down to select, but that a minor issue. I like that this remote can be used to navigate the different external set top boxes that we have installed into it, so we don't have to have too many remotes hanging around.
Overall, we definitely recommend this TV as a great first OLED TV or an upgrade from an older OLED TV.
