Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4…

The Samsung Galaxy Flip 4 impressed me with its sleek design and small size. This truly does hark back to the days of some of my most beloved clamshell phones. The small front screen is amazing for personalising with your own images and giving all the notifications required. The size and convenience for carrying around whilst folded truly is a game changer for me. Something that a lot of people have commented on whenever I have the phone out on the table or desk. Perhaps one of my favourite features and this is just a by-product but if my toddler-aged daughter gets a hold of it and drops or throws it, then the screen is fully protected when folded. Switching from my old phone was not painless but I think that is a common problem now considering the amount of data we are all carrying around. The camera is a definite upgrade from my old phone but don't expect it to be up there with the premium phones. I am still extremely happy with it though. The ability for it to self-stand so you can take selfies with a hand gesture is truly a game changer for me, with no more awkward angles as I try to get my thumb over to the action button. Selfies now look like someone else took them. A few, not really negatives, but could be better observations are the battery life. With Bluetooth and video for your home screen and all the other bells and whistles turned on, you may struggle to get a day out of the battery and the fact that you cannot open one-handed. I hope these can be improved in the next iteration. Another thing I was particularly keen to see was the fold in the screen. I have heard others complain about this but I have found it to be practically unnoticeable. Yes, it is there but the image quality is so good that you soon forget. To summarise, the Samsung Galaxy Flip 4 is a fantastic phone that I am more than happy with despite its few minor flaws.
Update - Flip5
The new screen is fantastic. So much better being the full height and width of the folded phone. Looks great and I find myself using it more.
Performance and battery life seem better. The performance was fantastic on the 4 so obviously it is better on the 5 and battery life seems much improved. Far more confident getting a day out of it even with heavy usage.
It is a genuine talking point, gaining lots of oohs and aahs from friends and colleagues.
It feels heavier, more solid and all around a more premium product.
It truly is a great phone and I couldn’t recommend it enough.
