Defender Solar-Powered Luggage Eco Leather Watch
Clear and functional but…

On first impressions this is a really nicely designed watch, looking forward to testing it over the coming weeks.
Love the case that it came in, a nice metal tin rather than a plastic box.
The overal look of the watch is lovely, nice blue dial with contrasting numerals makes it easy to read. The blue also compliments the brown leather strap and metal case too.
The strap was plenty long enough for my wrist and has three holes left for adjustment.
I think the dial is a perfect size for a “Field” style watch, clear but not excessive.
I do have some initial points I don’t like though sadly.
The date window is too small, I had to use my phone to zoom in and check I’d set it correctly. I also had to do this to read the instructions too…I would also have liked to see a day/date arrangement.
As I’m writing this in my poorly lit office I’ve just noticed there is no illumination for the dial, and no luminescence on the hands or numerals, making it next to useless in the dark.
Lastly, I don’t know if my watch is faulty, or if it’s a design of them, but my second hand is not fluid in its movement? It doesn’t move equally between the seconds, it seems to move once and then pause before moving two. Kind of 1….23….45….67….89 and so on. It does appear to keep accurate time though.
*UPDATE*
Ok, having left the watch on the window sill for a full day in the sun, I can now correct two things.
The second hand now moves correctly, this may become a useful tool to know when it needs some UV rays in the future.
And, the hands and numerals are now luminous in the dark. The brightness seems to fade quite quickly though.
If only the instruction book had of mentioned this…
