A perfect piece of kit…

Campingaz seems to be a reputable brand, and although a bit on the expensive side of the market, I thought this stove looked ideal to use for camping and at home (I have an induction hob at home which is useless for steaks and stir frys).
Due to the wonderful weather we get up here, storm Babet this week, we ended up using this in the house instead of outside, setting it up in the kitchen due to fears of the electricity cutting off. We purchased the twin connection regulator so we can use the larger gas cannisters and the smaller cartridges depending on where the appliance was to be used.
First impression of the stove was that it was bigger than expected, this is both a pro, you can easily cook enough for 2+ on one of the supplied plates and a normal household pan will fit on each burner, and a con, it is bigger than I expected so cannot be stored in our kitchen units as previously planned for use inside. This is personal preference and only in regards to inside use, as a piece of camping equipment this would be a pro because you can cook like you are at home. Of course, if I had looked at the dimensions instead of guessing...
The bag that comes with the stove is handy but flimsy, something more structured would be better in my opinion. When it is stored, the trays are placed on the underside of the unit, there are velcro straps to hold them on but can come apart and rattle about while being carried in the bag. It is also strange to have to start with the unit upside down, my husband, on first glance, thought it came out set up and was a little confused when I told him it was upside down. On a positive note, the stove is light and easy to carry about, set up and clean. It is the lightweight nature of the stove that makes me think that a structured or padded bag would be better as I foresee this ending up bashed and battered after being in and out of the car a few times.
So far I have made use of the supplied trays and they heated up quickly and evenly, this was great, and they were also very easy to clean afterwards. I will be interested to see if the non-stick continues to work so well as time goes on, but could not possibly predict that from using it a few times.
The chance to have a decent steak makes it worthwhile to me. I like the fact that I can use large and small gas containers, I like that this is easy to clean and does not restrict the amount of food I can cook or the size of pot I can use. So far, I'm impressed and hope that continues.
