Royal Canin Golden Retriever
Went down a “treat”!!

I’ve only recently adopted my golden retriever. His previous food was not the best quality and I’ve been trying to find a more suitable food for him. I was excited to try him with this breed-specific Royal Canin Golden Retriever. And it certainly didn’t disappoint - me or him!
My dog was interested from the minute this food arrived. No surprise there, like a lot of goldens, he’s something of a hoover! However, this was not your normal level of interest. In fact, he decided he needed to sit by the box and guard his new food for the next hour or so! But it didn’t stop there. Being a new-to-me dog, I’m doing lots of training with him, which means lots of treats. I like to use some of his food while out and about for this so I decided to take some of these with us on our walk. My dog has never been so attentive!! He loves these biscuits so much, he would literally do anything for them. So much so, these have now been dubbed “golden retriever crack” in my house 😂 Sorry. RC.
On a more sensible note, transitioning to this food has been smooth and easy. No upset tums. I feel like my golden is more alert and has more energy on this food but that may just be to do with his level of excitement for it!
The food has a pleasant smell and nice big kibble size. I wish they sold a smaller version of this for training treat purposes. I would definitely buy those.
All in all, this has gone down a “treat”. Definitely a hit with my golden. Beware if you do purchase though, your dog might not leave your side with this in your pocket 😂
