Another excellent G Series

Last year I upgraded from a 10+yr old flagship plasma to the LG 65G3 OLED TV which was a huge step forward in terms of Image quality, design and functionality. As we are renovating a second room we decided to purchase the latest version of this LG OLED TV. We knew what to expect and looking at the spec sheet there isn't much difference. I guess if something isn't broke, don't fix it. The 65G4 shares a similar design with the same wall bracket that fits within a recess on the back of the TV providing a flush fit against the wall. This enables the TV to hang there like a piece of art in a gallery. Setting up the TV was simple using the LG app and obtaining a brilliant picture was simple, just set the picture to Filmmaker mode for the different sources. The WebOS is excellent, the apps for catchup TV load fast and the navigation is responsive. All apps have functioned without any issues or crashes and the streaming has been excellent. As experienced with the previous generation, the magic remote provides a great user experience. The remote is not built to any luxurious standards with it being all plastic but it provides a universal control over the firestick that is plugged in to the HDMI port. This allows you to just use a single remote for a simple operation. The only time the firestick remote has been required is for the ‘home’ button. Mirroring your mobile device screen to the TV has worked reliably. I have no complaints over the sound quality of the standard speakers however I may add one of the LG soundbars due to the size of the room the TV is destined for. I fully recommend this LG 65G4 OLED TV as I did with it’s predecessor the 65G3.
