Smart Ultra Soundbar
High quality sound, beautiful…

This is by some margin the best sound bar I’ve come across. It has a minimalistic, understated yet stylish look which goes nicely with the TV. It’s a relatively compact package so it slots nicely under the TV. The reflective glass top is a nice addition. I like that there aren’t any obviously visible buttons and when the bar is on, there are no distracting lights on.
Don’t be fooled by the understated looks though, the sound on this thing is incredible. As expected from Bose, sound quality is brilliant, but this took me by surprise. The clarity across high, mid and low frequency is superb considering it’s a soundbar. It can get seriously loud without much distortion.
It doesn’t do any fancy trickery like other soundbars to try to create “virtual surround sound”…it just produces high quality sound that fills the room. I’m in a big “T” shaped open plan space and it does a great job of filling the whole area with crystal clear sound.
Surprisingly the bass is pretty good for a such a slim sound bar. I have turned up the bass one notch on the equaliser because I like it a little deeper, but it’s certainly not lacking and the bass really travels well. I initially thought I’d buy the bar, then buy the sub to go with it, but I honestly don’t think I need it.
Best feature: The AI Dialogue Mode makes voices in movies perfectly clear, but doesn’t do it at the expense of lower frequencies. I now don’t have to crank the volume up just to hear dialogue in noisy scenes. I’ve decided to just keep this switched on, even when listening to music, because it’s just so good.
It has voice control with Alexa, which works well and can hear well in noise environments, but I have an Echo device in the room and Alexa on the TV so I’ve turned it off on the soundbar.
Setup was nice and easy. I connected with HDMI eARC (cable provided) so everything synced with the TV without me needing to anything else.
I’d recommend using the ADAPTiQ wizard to get the bar to calibrate to your space as it did make a big difference for me.
The app is easy to connect up and use. I barely use it now that I’ve got everything configured the way I want it, but it has some handy extra features for controlling how HDMI CEC works, and tweaking audio delays. I wish it had a few more features though. Standby timer is either off or 20 mins…no other options. You can’t save different equaliser settings either. But they’re all minor issues which I can live without given how good the sound quality is.
