I am impressed and sold,…

This is the first time that I am using an electric toothbrush, having used a conventional toothbrush for over four decades.
The Sonicare 9900 is a sleek and modern looking toothbrush. It came in rose-gold color and I find it elegant and beautiful. The base is wide enough for a good grip. It also has an appropriate weight, which gives the impression of good quality built.
Installation was straight forward - literally plug and play. You need to download the software and update the firmware. I did find the process cumbersome as there was some glitch in synchronising the app with the hardware.
Function wise, the Sonicare was impressive. The clean was powerful (probably because it was in the default "strong" mode" - I have yet to figure out how to reduce the intensity) and it leaves my teeth feeling like I have just left the dentist clinic. It is operated by a single power button (kind of like the iphone). Unfortunately, I find that this was one area that requires improvement as I am struggling to toggle between different intensity.
The tongue cleaner looked impressive. However, I did not feel that it has "cleaned/scraped" my tongue as well as the over the shelf conventional scrapper. I will give it a miss.
The sonicare app was initially impressive. However, I suspect that it wasnt as "smart" as I thought it was. It was basically guiding the user to spend a fixed amount of time on each segment of the teeth, detecting sudden movements - but nothing more.
Overall, I am sold to the concept of using an electric toothbrush. I will probably not revert to my conventional toothbrush in the near future. However, the mechanics of the toothbrush can be made more intuitive (how do I change the intensity :(( ) . The tongue scrapper definitely needs improvement.
