TONE Free FP9 (White)
Minimalist but plenty to…
01/01/2022 12:26
Pros:
1) Easy to use and pair with the phone via BT
2) Plug and wireless is useful to make equipments with 3.5mm audio jacks into wireless alternatives
3) The ANC is robust
4) The Freetone app has many options to play around with and adjust, including modifying the EQ to suit individual tastes. The pre-programmed suites like the 3D immersive etc are also useful, though personally prefer the tremble setting myself.
5) Has IP rating for sweat and light splashes
6) feels secure and light and comfortable in the ears - just have to change the silicone part to suit your size
7) Can't really tell about the UV sterilisation part, but I guess good to know its there.
8) Can use with single earbud (but only in ambient mode).
9) Cuts off and restarts when the earbud is taken off and put back on again. Useful.
10) Battery life is quite good.
Cons
1) Not multipoint despite it being Bluetooth 5.2 (but can manually change without unpairing, just disconnect with a touch on your phone or device, and connection is fast and fuss free). This is not a deal breaker for me.
2) had some issue with the initial plug and wireless with no sound transmitted. Had to reset the earbuds by pressing one of the touchpads area for 10s while in the case. After that it worked without much issue.
3) occasionally can expereince slight drop in signal (experienced in the plug and wireless mode during my trial with this pair)
Conculsion:
Will recommend this to the everyday users. Minimalist yet has plenty of functions. Audio quality is good enough, though I am not an audiophile. Value for the price range.
