Great picture quality,…

The 2019 LG NanoCell is an amazing TV for the price, and I wholeheartedly recommend.
I was immediately surprised by how thin the bezels and overall screen wereSet up is smooth thanks to the LG magic remote, which turns the remote into a sort of Bluetooth laser pointer. It makes putting in usernames and passwords for the WIFI and streaming services less of a chore- gone are the days of frantically clicking the remote arrows to navigate an onscreen keyboard.
All the major cord cutting services are available an app in the LG store (Hulu, Youtube tv, Netflix, Amazon, Plex, Sling, Youtube, Google play movies, etc). They all run buttery smooth thanks to the new A7 gen 2 chipset. In fact, that is one of the biggest takeaways I had after the first hour of playing around with the TV- the UI/ operating system is very snappy. It makes the smart tv feel feature complete- most smart TVs are a bit laggy as you switch between apps and use it as anything more than a screen.
It supports all the HDR standards available. Not worrying about the HDR format wars when buying a TV is a nice perk. Picture quality is stunning. The resolution bump up to 4k is nice, but the colors and contrast when you put on HDR content is mind blowing.
The 8 series NanoCell only has local dimming. This means there is less contrast between light and dark areas on the screen. I also noticed some back light bleed around the edges, especially in scenes that are mostly black/ loading screens for apps. For the most part, I did not notice it while viewing content, especially when using the cinema/expert dark room modes, as the backlight is set lower.
The TV will pass through Dolby Atmos onto a sound bar or receiver from smart apps or other peripherals plugged directly into the TV.
Great picture and features for the price, especially considering the marginal improvements in the 9 series. Feels like a true smart TV with the improved processor, leading to a very quick and snappy menus and apps. Supports every audio and HDR standard available. If you go check out an OLED tv and don’t feel the price difference is worth the improved contrast, this is the TV for you.
