Didnt realize how much…

I purchased this dishwasher, model DW80R7060US, to replace a rather old one in a house I just purchased. The old dishwasher was a lot quieter than others I've had, but it was showing its age. This new Samsung dishwasher was a huge upgrade, more than I thought possible. It is so quiet that I need to check it occassionally to make sure its actually on! It does a tremendous job cleaning even baked on pots with the Storm Wash area. The third rack for additional flatware is awesome too. And when you dont need the third rack, the flatware baskets suspend the forks and spoons so the whole thing can get clean. A huge improvement on my old washer.
The one downside is the "Auto Open to Dry" function. Once the machine finishes its sanitize cycle, it is supposed to pop open the door to let the steam vent. That should in turn help dry the dishes better without spots. Mine does not work. I have had the Samsung repair guys out twice, and each time they tell me it should work. I agree, it SHOULD work. But it doesn't. Since it was designed to vent with the door open, it does not do a good job venting with the door shut. If I turn it on before I go to work, when I get home it has been off for a while and it has standing water. So I've had to settle for running it when I go to bed and open the door manually when I get up in the morning. Not a huge downside, but it does lose points for it.
Update: this dishwasher loses even more points as Samsung has refused to fix the issue with the auto open function. All they offer to do is refund purchase price if I can provide a receipt. From day one I have had an issue with this dishwasher and Samsung gave up after their technicians could not fix it. This is enough to make me not purchase Samsung appliances any more.
