Not difficult drive change

I was very excited when the my new SSD 860 QVO drive arrived. 1 TB SSD which a few years ago was unheard of and here I was holding it in my hand. But when I opened it, my heart sunk a little as there were no instructions on what and how I should handle the change. But even though I'm not an IT or computer geek, I was able to figure it out and have to say it was easy. Not Plug and Play, but with Samsung makes life easier through their website.
I was replacing my data drive, not my primary drive, and therefore I didn't have to worry about trying to migrate my operating system and all software.
Samsung offers 2 software that you can download from their website and they make it easier https://www.samsung.com/us/support/owners/product/860-qvo-sata-iii. One is that Data Migration that per the instructions will transfer / clones your drive and the instructions seemed very simple.
In may case I just had to plug the drive in, restart my computer and it automatically recognized my drive. I only had to format the disk and was ready to start saving my pictures and videos.
I had transferred a lot of pictures and videos and have been very impressed with the read and write speed of the drive. It takes a few seconds to transfer very large files. I started with smaller files, but when I saw how fast they would transfer, I started to transfer large folders. I was very impressed how effortless the transfer was.
I did also download the magician software and it is a very neat software. It does take a little bit of space, but allows you to run some interesting performance tests.
Due to the speed test and performance tests, I have ordered another SSD 860 QVO drive and plan to use it as my primary drive. I firmly believe that the boot up time of my current laptop and performance would only benefit from this change.
