Initial Impression: Packaging was great. Well protected.
For the model/price point, I don’t think you can beat the picture. Compared to the similar brands like Samsung, this is definitely a lot sharper NO competition but I expect nothing less from LG. The blacks are darker and the whites brighter. I really like this TV overall and am happy with my purchase. I ran some 4K demo videos through the built-in YouTube app and the 4K picture is absolutely beautiful. The presets for different picture modes are incredible and you can switch easily depending on what you watch. I find myself sticking to “Standard” mode the most. There is little to no glare on the screen, and I have the TV placed right next to a wall of windows with the blinds open 90% of the time. I think the “Standard” TV mode helps in this regard as well. The game mode is awesome I already see a huge difference in latency compared to my older TV. My husband and I play COD and it has never played so well. The TV is incredibly bright I was really surprised but it also looked clear and crisp. The colors are really vivid. I watched a couple of "The Last Dance" episodes on it and loved how well it handled the old-time basketball footage.
The sound quality is also quite good from the TV's built in speakers although we don’t use them.
The UI is snappy and I love the interface that my family has become custom to over the last few years. Setup was a snap, just get connected to wifi, download a firmware update, and off to the racing streaming in a few minutes. The interface is fast and responsive most of the time. I had a few blips here and there with it speed-wise, but other than that it has been great.
It is nice that you can easily access Netflix, Roku, Hulu, etc…
One minor complaint is that I don't really like the "stand" that came with the TV. My old TV had a really nice swivel stand that allowed me to turn the TV from side to side, depending on where in the room I was sitting. This TV only has 2 "feet" for a stand, so no swiveling of the TV is really possible and the TV wobbles some on it. I can probably remedy this by buying an after-market universal TV stand that will swivel if I want to.
