Awesome Samsung range

The Samsung 6.3 cu. Ft. Smart Slide-In Induction Range with Flex Duo, Smart Dial and Air Fry is quite an appliance. It is a dream to cook on. The burners have eight standard settings plus a power boost on every one of them. I find I don’t use the power boost as much as I thought I would even though I cook with pressure cookers all the time and you typically bring these up to pressure quickly with high heat. I have found that level eight is usually enough. The other thing that’s great when using pressure cookers on this range is when you turn the knob, the power drops immediately. You don’t have to wait for the burner to cool down some, it’s there as soon as you select the level. I loved this when using a gas range, but with almost every home I’ve lived in recently, they’re set up for electric ranges only. That has been very frustrating. Talk about S L O W. It takes forever to heat up and the burners get hot and stay hot for a long time after you turn them off. I was expecting all the burners to have the blue flame effect, but only the large burner on the right does. That was quite a disappointment, and I’m not sure why they decided to reduce it from all four burners to just one. The top of the range also features a digital readout that lets you know which burner is turned on, the power level it’s set at, and when you turn it off, it lets you know there could be some residual heat in that spot which is created by the hot pan. The burner itself doesn’t generate any heat, which is great!
The Flex Duo oven is another tremendously helpful feature of this range. The door is hinged in the middle, so if you’re using just the top oven, you hold in the button on the back of the handle while opening it and only the top oven is exposed. This is really handy when you’re using both ovens. You don’t lose heat in the bottom oven if you need to open the top oven. You can also set both ovens at a different temp, but they have to stay within 50 degrees of each other. I originally thought you could cook at 300 in one oven while having the other set for 400, but that doesn’t work. When you think about it though, it makes sense. It just limits the flexibility of having two ovens a little bit. The top oven is a convection oven and you can opt to have the range automatically deduct 25 degrees from your selected temperature. There are some things that work great in a convection oven, and some things that just don’t.
The drawer on the bottom is not as deep as I’m used to, so that was a bit of an adjustment as that’s where I typically stored my cookie sheets, etc and I had to take most of them out and find another home for them. The divider for the two ovens fits in that drawer perfectly though so there is that. Plus you get the rack for air frying and it fits in that drawer too. The oven also comes with a probe, but I haven’t tried it yet.
There isn’t much negative to say about this oven, but if I had to list anything, it would be the knobs on the front. We have a microwave over the range and I’m forever turning the oven on with my belly. You can lock the controls and doors, so I usually keep it locked if it’s not in use just for that reason.
Would I recommend the Samsung 6.3 cu. Ft. Smart Slide-In Induction Range with Flex Duo, Smart Dial and Air Fry? I like it so much I recommended it to my mom!
