LG Gaming does it again

LG Gaming does it again with this awesome gaming sound bar that really stands out, regardless of it not having much competition to begin with. Most sound bars that exist aren't built for gaming enthusiasts, but while this one doesn't fully nail all of it's features, it does come close.
First off, this thing just looks cool. With customizable lights that you can set to any color on the RGB scale using your phone app and it's overall look, it fits perfectly with my gaming desk and RGB keyboards and such. The knob and buttons are all very tactile and nice. It has a couple rear mini subs and you can tell because this definitely delivers bass as far as sound bar/portable bluetooth speakers go. Music sounds great on it, clear with a nice thump and powerful sound that gives my desk even a solid bassy vibration. EQ is fully customizable in the phone app as well, but this also has dedicated RTS and FPS buttons, and while I normally game with a headset, there are times where I am playing MMO's lately (New World) where I don't feel like hopping in discord to chat and it's nice to be able to game without a headset and still receive a very rich sound environment, this speaker sounds wonderful with gaming, albeit it slightly misses the mark on surround sound immersion (but how great can SS immersion really be with a single front facing speaker).
I've tried out the internal mic to use for chatting and this seems to be the only real downfall of this speaker (along with the steep price). The mic just doesnt pick up enough or sound clear like you would have a boom mic from a headset next to your mouth but, again, would you really expect it to? The standout feature of this speaker, to me though, is that you can just unplug and take it with you and utilize it as a standalone blue tooth speaker for a solid 3-5 hours depending on how loud you have it playing and light brightness and such - it's a wonderful bonus feature. I don't know of any other sound bar quality speaker you can do that with. It also has solid Google Assistant commanding, which is just extra convenience and not everyone might care about this feature but again, another cool bonus.
Would I pay $500 for this speaker? To be honest, probably not, tough sell at that price point. I did receive this item at discount in exchange for my honest review, and for the cost that I paid, I absolutely love it. If you have the 500 to spend on gaming speakers, although steep, you probably couldn't do better than the GP9.
