Packaging – This is an improvement, everything needed to connect the printer and get it ready is right at the top of the box; inside is a second box and the printer has a lovely lift-out strap taped to it.
Getting everything connected and installed was easy following the images on the box.
I scanned the QR code on the printer when I powered it up, downloaded the app, and the printer was connected to my wireless within 2 minutes.
2 minutes later, I was able to successfully print to the printer from my phone.
Setting up HP+ took two times; the first time it timed out after I created my account.
So, I skipped finishing it to see if I could print from my local network computers.
I found the printer was already showing up on my list of printers, so I was able to connect to the printer easily.
So, I went back into the setup to try the HP+ again, once I logged into my account, all the options to set up my service were there, including the 6-month trial.
I found it to be explained clearly, and I picked an option, and it was done.
I now had my 6-month trial on instant ink, and my subscription was set to renew in 6 months.
Two days later, I received an email from HP to let me know my first batch of replacement ink was en route and that, moving forward, I would be sent ink based on usage.
I will say having an extra set of cartridges as a backup for free was a nice comfort.
The printing speed is fine, the colors look good, and I could duplex print from my phone or computer without issue.
Copying was easy, using both the flatbed scanner and the document feeder.
Having the paper tray barely sit in front of the printer is also a nice touch; the printer has a surprisingly small footprint for being fully functional all in one with multiple paper size support and a full scanner.
It wakes from sleep mode surprisingly quickly; I was able to return to the printer after several days of sleep and print another document from my phone within 60 seconds.
The construction seems solid enough; I like the balance of weight and durability.
I feel like this printer should last for a while if taken care of properly.
Being able to print in black and white, with the ability to both flatbed scan and scan multiple pages using the document feeder, is all I would need in a home environment or a small business.
– I received a special deal on this product for providing my feedback.
