HU915QB
The Home Theater of My…

As a child, I had always dreamed of having a movie theater in the comfort of my home. Now this dream can be a reality for most people with the availability of LG's new premium 4K UHD laser short throw projectors.
These new projectors can project up to 120-inch image sitting only a few inches from the screen and as such prevents the need for traditional costly setups such as projector mounting, cable management, and calibration, as well as the potential for image obstruction if anyone passed by the projected image. Now the ultra-short throw projector (UST) can project a large image very close to the screen, allowing you to place the projector on a stand, or even on the floor, and achieve the same results as a traditional projector.
Featuring a brightness of 3,000 ANSI lumens for the HU915QB (black) and 3,700 ANSI lumens for the HU915QE (beige) images can project acceptably in daylight but stand out in the dark Where the HU915QB trades in brightness it gains in having a slightly wider color gamut compared to the HU915QE. Both projectors fully support HDR and 4K resolution, images are crisp, and motion is fluid. The interface and controls are intuitive and responsive, and the projector fan noise is minimal. As an added benefit, the stylish projector cabinet also features built-in speakers to increase usability as a stand-alone product. Support for Dolby Atmos via HDMI pass-through allows these projectors to also connect to your existing home theater setup for a complete experience.
Finding a good projector screen to pair with this projector is also very important, as image quality is optimized if projected onto a screen specially designed for UST projection. Look for a screen that features ambient light-rejecting material to optimize daytime viewing.
An area of improvement includes a poor selection of supported apps on LG's WebOS Projector platform. There are multiple notable applications missing that are otherwise ubiquitous on LG’s TV selections. LG acknowledges this limitation stating that native third-party support for the project device is not as comprehensive as their TV line. To circumvent this limitation a streaming platform that does support a wide range of streaming services can be connected via the projector’s three HDMI inputs (HDRMI 2.1 x 1, HDMI 2.0b x 2).
Overall, I highly recommend this projector for any enthusiast looking for premium image quality to fulfill their home theater dream.
