Competitive 4k 144hz Gaming…

This 32" 4k 144hz monitor is a great option in this category. It has a standard 16:9 ratio with a resolution of 3840x2160 and with a 1ms response time, it's amazing for gaming!
Let start with some pros:
• The box was in great shape, and everything was packaged really well. Nothing was damaged on the inside.
• No dead pixels on arrival which is always a great way to start!
• Coming from a 1440p IPS monitor, this VA panel has almost the same picture quality which is a true testament to how far they have come.
• Contrast ratio is amazing. The blacks are very black, and it can also be very bright in a well-lit room.
• Playing at 144hz was very smooth. I didn't notice any ghosting of pixels at all.
• Worked perfectly with my gaming console and with variable refresh rate. The built in speakers are an added bonus.
• The on-screen display menu is easy to use and understand.
• Assembly and attachment of the stand was super simple, and the stand provides a wide array of motion to get the monitor positioned exactly where you want it.
Now for some of the cons:
• Out of the box image calibration was a little off. It was very bright and made most of the blacks into greys. It made the picture washed out. The picture was just about perfect after adjusting the brightness, black level, black stabilizer, and the gamma.
• The viewing angle is not very good. If you are looking straight at the monitor right in the center, everything is gorgeous. However, if you move you head at all from the center or look at it from any sort of angle, the edges start to wash out very quickly. In my opinion this would have been better as a curved monitor.
• Lastly, and this was very frustrating, the monitor only comes with a display port cable which normally is not a bad thing for a PC monitor. However, in order to achieve 4k at 144hz, it has to use Display Port 1.4 DSC compatibility which DSC is Display Stream Compression. I've come to find out that DSC is not widely standardized and did not work on my video card at the time of writing this. If you turn off DSC, it works fine but caps the FPS at 120hz. Windows was fine but as soon as I started gaming, the screen would immediately go black. I purchased a high-end DP cable to see if that would fix the issue, but it did not. I decided to also purchase an HDMI 2.1 cable and that worked perfectly out of the box. It should really come with both cables in the box.
Overall, a great monitor but could be a little cheaper.
