Lexmark Black & White Laser Printer 4 Series B3442dw
A solid, compact laser…

I currently work from home and my company-issued printer is huge and noisy... not well-suited for a home office. I decided to replace it with the Lexmark B3442dw printer and couldn't be happier. My first impression of the printer is how compact and solid it feels. It's rated for 800-8,000 pages per month and I have no doubt it could do that. In the week I've owned it, I've printed roughly 400 pages (including labels) and haven't encountered a single paper jam (which is more than I can say about my previous printer.) Set up was easy, though I would recommend watching the set up videos on the Lexmark website. Removing the foam around the toner cartridge was a little tricky until I watched the video. The printer is ethernet capable, though I suspect most people will connect via wifi. This was the only slowdown. If you have a long wifi password, get ready for a few frustrating minutes. This tedious process is hardly unique to this printer, so I won't hold it against it too much. Once connected, I printed my first page within minutes. Standard print quality is fine, but if you want the best quality, you'll need to reconfigure the settings to 2400dpi. This is an easy process, and depending on your computer, you may be able to do it from the Print dialogue. I have no complaints about the print speed. You hit print, the printer thinks for a second or two, and then it spits out a page. There is some noise while printing, but it's definitely quieter than my last printer. As far as I know, no manufacturer makes a completely silent laser printer. The included toner cartridge is rated for 3000 pages and the replacement cost seems reasonable. Overall, I'm pleased with this purchase. I have no doubt it will serve me well for the next few years. I received a special deal on this product for providing my feedback, but I can confidently recommend it.
