Super convenient, changes…

Buying this machine has been an interesting experience filled with many more pros than cons. In short, I love that the machine can wash and dry all at once, and it can handle everyday clothes to big heavy comforters with ease. I find it works best when I put in clothes before work or bed, which gives it a long time to run and leaves everything ready when I get home. Everything comes out clean and smelling fresh, so it does the job well. Here's a breakdown of my experiences.
Installation and first time use:
* The machine is extremely heavy, so be certain where you want it and how you want it oriented before it's delivered, and make sure the delivery people orient it how you want it.
* There aren't many instructions available on paper. All flaps on the machine open by pushing them in, which isn't clearly labelled anywhere.
* The app set-up is easy, and the machine works smoothly once you know what it's doing.
Pros:
* The machine holds a ton of clothes
* The autodispenser uses very little detergent (you can track this in the app), but it leaves the clothes smelling much fresher than my old top-loader machine
* The machine automatically opens the door when it's done, helping to prevent the dreaded mold common with front-loaders
* The machine is pretty and it's fun to watch it work
* The app shows a lot of cool stats, and the machine automatically syncs with other Samsung devices. Our Samsung TV tells us when the laundry is done, which was a surprise.
* The clothes come out pretty darn dry
Cons:
* The lint trap is involved to clean. I'm scared I will break the plastic every time I open the trap. It's also super important to clean this carefully on this type of machine.
* The machine only comes with a one-year warranty
* The bottom flap on our machine was broken upon arrival, although Samsung did fix it
* Sometimes the machine says it's low on detergent when it's not
* Some options on the machine are confusing. What's the difference between "normal" and "AI Optiwash"? There's a power-saving mode you can activate in the app -- what does this do?
* Sometimes clothes come out a bit wrinklier than I'd expect
* The machine only comes with a one-year warranty, which is short given the high price tag
Other comments:
* Depending on the size of the load, the machine takes between 2:22 and 4:45 to finish one load. 4:45 may seem like a lot, but it's easy to put large loads in on my way out to work, so I don't mind.
